[00:00:00] CORY: [00:00:00] Welcome to the impactors podcast. I'm Cory Carter [00:00:04] RON: [00:00:04] and I'm Ron. Cool.
[00:00:05] CORY: [00:00:05] And we are the owners and founders of hindsight hacking media agency, podcast, funnels, graphics, and more head on over to get hhm.com to learn more.
[00:00:15] RON: [00:00:15] Guys, we created this podcast to help you go create an impact today. Not tomorrow, not yesterday. Today.
[00:00:21] We're taking all the fluff, all the BS out so you can go create. [00:00:32] CORY: [00:00:32] And today's topic is
[00:00:34] RON: [00:00:34] visibility. And who do you serve?
[00:00:36] CORY: [00:00:36] That's right, Ron, the famous quesSon. Who do you serve now? If it's not a famous quesSon to you, if you're listening to this, that means you probably don't know who do you serve? So, so Ron, I'm going to ask you how does one figure out exactly who they serve?
[00:00:54] RON: [00:00:54] Oh, my gosh, dude, I'm going to, I'm just going to be real for a second. It is someSmes a difficult [00:01:00] process to get your brain to understand you are looking for one person or two people, right. And be like Uber specific on those two people and everything about them, right? Their age range. If it's male or female, they like to, to go hiking or not hiking. Like get to know everything about that person, because then as you really focus on that person, let's say you're going to hit it.
[00:01:24] SomeSmes you're going to start a[racSng people right around that core group of people you're trying to really focus in on. Right. And that's okay. Right. But it's going to be super dialed into the exact who you are trying to reach.
[00:01:40] CORY: [00:01:40] Yes. So o]en Smes somebody does an ad of some kind, Facebook will, I'll use that as an example for this, there's an ad that says.
[00:01:50] Date range, age range, right? 35 to 55. That is not the specific who we're talking about. No, we want, you want, [00:02:00] as somebody trying to find who you're targeSng, you want to know their name, right? Like my number one, female client, her name is Janet and her age is 40. Not 35 to 55, right? Like, you know, get that's that specific specificity that you were talking about, Ron, that I think is so important.
[00:02:20] I get so focused on what that exact person looks like. That it's just not a quesSon. And when the wrong people come to you again, you you'll know like, what is my messaging, not talking to Janet or whoever your, who is, because I know for you and I Ron., like, I love our example of, we didn't have this nailed down, but now we know there's three there's one specific clientele that we will not necessarily serve.
[00:02:52] Because of having the wrong people being a[racted to our stuff.
[00:02:57] RON: [00:02:57] Yeah. We were definitely a[racSng the wrong people. And guess what? We were [00:03:00] able to adjust that a]er we realized where some of the problem was and why we were becoming so visible to this type of client or this type of clientele. Right.
[00:03:12] And so we had to just change some of the wording and what was the last Sme we got approached by that type of person??
[00:03:17] CORY: [00:03:17] The moment we changed the wording just together, , [00:03:21] RON: [00:03:21] right.
[00:03:21] CORY: [00:03:21] And not even put it out in the world, we put it to each other, right. That person is not a client we'llever serve again done. They've never returned.
[00:03:29] RON: [00:03:29] No,
[00:03:29] CORY: [00:03:29] never been another client like that. And so [00:03:32] RON: [00:03:32] Zero
[00:03:33] CORY: [00:03:33] it's crazy.
[00:03:34] RON: [00:03:34] Yeah.
[00:03:35] CORY: [00:03:35] And so in line with the show. Knowing, like number one, they need to know who they serve. They need to get deeper than the top level, age range of 35 to 55 or whatever. Like they need to know all those details and we have some ways to help people idenSfy that.
[00:03:51] But if somebody was to just turn the show off right this second, how could they, what steps could they take to go work on who [00:04:00] they serve?
[00:04:00]RON: [00:04:00] Get a piece of paper like write it down, write it down. Right. If you don't work with a partner, you're more than welcome to contact Corey and I, we can help you through this process, like you said, but here's a couple of things to figure out what's the age.
[00:04:14] Right. And if you already have a base of clientele, I would also recommend looking at all your current clients and figuring out approximately where they are then looking and saying, okay, these are the people I really enjoy working. Be[er my current clients. What's the difference between the two.
[00:04:34] And that's
[00:04:34] CORY: [00:04:34] how impactors was born. [00:04:36] RON: [00:04:36] Yes.
[00:04:37] CORY: [00:04:37] Hundred Percent right? Like we had our base list of clients and we went through everyone that we, all the qualiSes of people that we truly enjoy working with. Right. And every aspect of it. And then it literally was boiled down to if they didn't have
an impact mission. Then we, there was something about them that we didn't necessarily just love.
[00:05:00] [00:04:59] Right. So it truly helped us with making sure we were working with it all the right people. AcSon step for anybody, literally look at who you serve. If you already have clients, you go through, what are the things you like about them? Right. Well, how much money they make? What what's their business? What do they do for fun?
[00:05:18] Like drill down all the stuff. If you don't have a business partner to bounce ideas off of definitely. I mean, Ron menSoned that. I mean, we'll our in the show. You get 30 minutes, like book a call with both Ron and I for 30 minutes. So we can talk about your who. No problem. No worries. No cost, but that more so it's, I think bouncing that idea off, off of others again, whether it be with Ron and I or someone else, I think that's how you can really fine tune the details is having somebody to have that conversaSon with.
[00:05:51] Yeah. And
[00:05:52] RON: [00:05:52] it makes all the difference in the world. I mean, we've, we've helped mulSple people in group seings. One-on-one seings really just nail this [00:06:00] down and we felt we were able to do that because two things, one, we struggled with this. Like I remember siing at, at a bagel. Right. And we're trying to nail this down what, four or five years ago.
[00:06:14] And I was just like, why would we go that deep? I don't understand. And the person that was helping us was like, what's the person's name? I was like, I don't freaking know. Right. It was
[00:06:24] CORY: [00:06:24] Like I don't really care either!
[00:06:27] RON: [00:06:27] Like, I don't care like that. Isn't but I didn't understand. Once we got hyper focused on who we wanted to help serve everything. Everything changed. It's so counterintuiSve, like understand who you wanted to put it on the world, right? Take inventory. So here's, here's some steps take inventory of your current clients.
[00:06:47] If you have understand who they are, all of them, then figure out who you love working with that you have no problems with and start to form your talking points to a[ract that. [00:07:00] Okay. So that's one. Now, if you don't have clients, right? So you're listening to the show you're brand new and you haven't figured out your who yet, and you don't have someone to do that inventory.
[00:07:10] Right? Understand what problems you're trying to solve for people in general, that you want to make an impact. And you'll start to find out. You're probably helping people like yourself, like six months ago. So start looking back and go, what did I need to see? Six months ago to help me along my journey to achieve something faster.
[00:07:33] And you know what, that's, how you can become visible to your past self.
[00:07:37] CORY: [00:07:37] One hundred percent So you've got to know your problem, but hands down, everyone out there know who you're serving. And I promise you the Digger, the more thorough you are with this quesSon. With your answers, the, the quicker you will be to finding success in what you're, what problem you're solving for that person.
[00:07:57] So, all right. I think that's it for today, [00:08:00] Ron? [00:08:00]RON: [00:08:00] That is it. No BS. No.
[00:08:02] CORY: [00:08:02] No BS, no fluff. All right. Thank you so much, everyone. And, uh, know who you serve.
[00:08:07] RON: [00:08:07] Go make an impact.
[00:08:08] CORY: [00:08:08] Thank you so much for listening to today's episode. If you want to learn more head on over to impactors mastermind.com, we have a special group waiSng just for you.
