[00:00:00] CORY: [00:00:00] Welcome to the impactors podcast.
[00:00:03] RON: [00:00:03] I'm Cory Carter and I'm Ron. Cool.
[00:00:05] CORY: [00:00:05] And we are the owners and founders of hindsight hacking media agency, podcast, funnels, graphics, and more head on over to get hhm.com
[00:00:15] RON: [00:00:15] guys, we created this podcast to help you go create an impact today. Not tomorrow, not yesterday. Today we're taking all the fluff, all the BS out so you can go create.
[00:00:32] CORY: [00:00:32] And today's topic is
[00:00:34] RON: [00:00:34] podcasting and consistency.
[00:00:37] CORY: [00:00:37] Yes, Ron, that consistency is key. Now some people try to do a podcast five days a week, three days a week, even two days a week, right from the start, when they're all excited, that is. Not the way to go, right? Like we've seen it time and time again. That [00:01:00] consistency is the number one thing to growing your podcasts.
[00:01:06] RON: [00:01:06] Yeah, absolutely. Uh, again, when you want to make sure you're looking at your podcasts for what it is. It is a funnel to help you feed your business. Right. So if it's a funnel to feed your business as your business grows, are you going to be able to be committed to the consistency it takes to feed your business through the podcast? What I mean by that? Right now, when you launch said podcast, you have. X amount of time. You're like I can do it five days a week. One. Don't do it. Bad idea. Move on. It's once. You're welcome. But you want to then look at it in the future as you're getting clients, as you're being busy, as you're running your company, how much time will I have them? And how far in advance can you batch recording? Which we'll talk about later in the week.
[00:01:52] CORY: [00:01:52] Yes. Okay. So, so you and I just did a training a few, uh, ago, and it's funny, [00:02:00] like we didn't plan on talking. About consistency in that training. But when it came to the conversation was all about scaling and growing your podcast audience. And, and so when it came to that first question we got around it, it was. Pretty crazy how consistency just struck right out. Like, you know, nothing else matters if a person's not consistency, so are not consistent.
[00:02:28] RON: [00:02:28] Right.
[00:02:28] CORY: [00:02:28] And so is it helpful for somebody to do a podcast three days a week versus one? How what's the, how do we make sure
[00:02:35] RON: [00:02:35] it's actually, it's detrimental because here's the problem. You won't be able to necessarily keep up that. Even if you have we had a person that was a month ahead and we said, please don't add more shows. Right. And they were like, I can do three all the time. Please just work on one. She had to take a pause cause she just ran out. Stuff to do in her head because she got so busy. Right. And instead she could have been so far ahead if she was [00:03:00] just with once a week, it's harder to go from three to one with your consistency and your group of people following you than one to three.
[00:03:09] CORY: [00:03:09] Yeah. Yes. And so, but Ron, why do you guys do the impactors podcast seven days a week?
[00:03:17] RON: [00:03:17] Because we batch which we'll about later and we plan, we have a plan and it's part of our business strategy period.
[00:03:27] CORY: [00:03:27] Yes. So even before the impactors came out, right, we had our hindsight hacking 2020. The strategy was at a minimum once a week, every week. We went 52 straight Mondays. Well, we have more than that, but 52 Mondays in 2020, we never missed. Right. We were always on key on point and our audience can expect a show. And then we were like, oh, this is fun. We've got six months of content that we can put out there that we've recorded. So, you know, maybe we'll add a second day. Okay, [00:04:00] cool. Well then we're doing different things and somebody who did a challenge with us in a webinar on different things on the podcasts. And, and then we were doing our daily hacks and, and so it turned into five days a week. Right. But even the daily hack. Batch recording. Yeah. Before you start have some in the bank before you start get that later in the week, I guess we have a lot to talk about with that one. That's fine.
[00:04:22] RON: [00:04:22] I know we do!
[00:04:25] CORY: [00:04:25] So Be consistent. Well, Ron, what if I can't do one day a week
[00:04:29] RON: [00:04:29] be consistent at once every other week.
[00:04:32] CORY: [00:04:32] Right. But I mean, that's, I think everybody can do one day a week.
[00:04:35] RON: [00:04:35] You absolutely can. It's just, you're bad at time management if you can't do one a week. It's 30 minutes of your life, figure it out.
[00:04:42] CORY: [00:04:42] Yeah. 30 minutes, one time a week. Right? If you don't have time, then find some way to someone to help you edit, find some way to
[00:04:50] RON: [00:04:50] get a who
[00:04:51] CORY: [00:04:51] make sure that they can help you. So again, as Ron just said, spend 30 minutes in the week, have your [00:05:00] weekly show mixed with guests mixed with solos, but ultimately, yeah. 30 minutes a week, come on, people 30 minutes a week. If you do it for 52 straight weeks, what happens?
[00:05:13] RON: [00:05:13] Change your life period. In of story, we do not. I will tell you, I did not believe that, but I promise you, it will assume a silly little podcast changed Corey and I's life forever.
[00:05:26] CORY: [00:05:26] Right? So, all right, everyone. I think that's all we got on consistency. Hopefully we beat the horse, the drum. I don't know, whatever you want to call it, beating into your head. Consistency is key. Once a week, 30 minutes a week, if you want longer shows, do longer shows. If you want shorter ones do shorter ones, but 30 minutes is a good number. just spend 30 minutes a week record. So it gets your message to your tribe. And, uh, at the end of the day, come on, it's 30 minutes be consistent one time a week and things will change. So that's all I got for ya. And, uh, [00:06:00] thanks for listening
[00:06:00] RON: [00:06:00] guys. We've told you and we're going to keep telling you, we might not be nice because there's no fluff, no BS just impact.
[00:06:07] CORY: [00:06:07] Thank you so much for listening to today's episode. If you want to learn more head on over to impactors mastermind.com, we have a special group waiting just for you.
