[00:00:00] CORY: [00:00:00] Welcome to the impactors podcast. I'm Cory Carter [00:00:04] RON: [00:00:04] and I'm Ron. Cool.

[00:00:05] CORY: [00:00:05] And we are the owners and founders of hindsight hacking media agency, podcast, funnels, graphics, and more head on over to get aig.com.

[00:00:15] RON: [00:00:15] Guys, we created this podcast to help you go create an impact today. Not tomorrow, not yesterday. Today.

[00:00:21] We're taking all the fluff, all the BS out so you can go create. [00:00:32] CORY: [00:00:32] And today's topic is

[00:00:33] RON: [00:00:33] all about masterminds. Corey. I know this is something you're super stoked about. So let's get into it.

[00:00:40] CORY: [00:00:40] Yes. Yes Ron okay, this is fun. You and I've had a fun banter over the years about masterminds and yeah. And it started with me trying to get you to a couple of things in person. And I remember you were going to, and then at like, I think it was something, our job happened that it was like, I [00:01:00] barely was able to make it.

[00:01:00] I think you had to cover for me so I could go, but you couldn't get, I dunno, but masterminds. Oh, my gosh. If you were out there in the world and you are not involved in some kind of mastermind, you are missing out. And so a mastermind could be four people geSng together and having conversaTon on a consistent basis.

[00:01:19] Right. But some people they call masterminds and it's more like group coaching where you never get to say a word and the person's mastermind just does all the talking for an hour. So there's all kinds of different masterminds. And Ron, I wanted to start it and open it up like that. Right. Cause there's two very big spectrums that, uh, we just, I just menToned and then there's stuff in between.

[00:01:42] And I kind of wanted us to start with our, our mastermind that we started last year. But your take on to it as we started, uh, before we get into it,

[00:01:53] RON: [00:01:53] I did not, I didn't get it. Let's just be honest. Like, I didn't understand why people would be involved and then I didn't get why you would [00:02:00] want to do it.

[00:02:01] Right. And let alone, I didn't understand why. Why people paid to be a part of it. Right. I didn't understand any of that stuff. So I didn't understand. I mean, long and short, I didn't understand the value of the mastermind. Right. And if you didn't start the one that we did as a beta, which was wildly successful, and I say it was wildly successful, not because how many people were in it.

[00:02:23] It was wildly successful to watch two things happen. Three things, three things. One how we grew in the process to how other people grew in the process and became more successful in their business and then free to watch how they were able to do joint ventures

with each other, because they started to understand how they can work together in the mastermind.

[00:02:46] CORY: [00:02:46] Yes. Yeah, it was, you know, that was our first online mastermind that we did, you know, but just to circle back with, with anybody listening, like I had the pleasure of being involved in mastermind [00:03:00] groups that were in person that involved real estate agents and mortgage brokers and financial advisors and insurance agents and, and all of these.

[00:03:08] High level kind of business owners. And, but it was in-person. And I would facilitate these meeTngs that included some training that included different things with main point of these meeTngs and masterminds was to be about the networking and the business referral aspect, right? Like you build relaTonships and then people can refer you as far as, uh, any kind of business goes.

[00:03:33] And that's kind of what that world was. And then when we started ours last year, like the whole goal, it was not to refer business. The goal is to build business from things you do like, and you menToned the word joint ventures, right? Like they're definitely the goal is to find a way to grow your business from this.

[00:03:54] Right. But, but we kind of had a few elements in there one every week, [00:04:00] somebody did training. Right. It wasn't just us. It was all of us that we were all learning different things because we had experts from different areas of the world, right. Experts from different business pla_orms that can teach us.

[00:04:14] And so we were learning from messenger bots too [00:04:17] RON: [00:04:17] Someone selling planes. That was crazy! [00:04:22] CORY: [00:04:22] But yeah,

[00:04:22] just all kinds of stuff. Different things. So it was such a cool experience to be able to fine tune exactly where the balance was from the online world to what I had seen in the, the, the old in-person like, you know, I'm going to go to a meeTng just to try to get referral business and people do get business, right?

[00:04:43] Like, there's that good balance. [00:04:45] RON: [00:04:45] Right.

[00:04:45] CORY: [00:04:45] But then with. Some of this whole aspect we discovered having a lidle bit of training was awesome, but you goda be quick, right? You don't want to spend an hour with people and spend an hour geSng, doing training. [00:05:00] Like then you take away the networking. Right.

[00:05:02] RON: [00:05:02] Right.

[00:05:02] CORY: [00:05:02] But that's important because if you're not growing, then what's the point as well. Right. Then the, from the training aspect, you go to store that's where so many masterminds that we see online. It's I don't know. I have people call it a mastermind because it's literally.Just. Coaching.

[00:05:17] RON: [00:05:17] Yeah,
[00:05:17] CORY: [00:05:17] it's just group coaching [00:05:19] RON: [00:05:19] or it's a pitch [00:05:20] or a pitch, right?

[00:05:21] CORY: [00:05:21] Like this is group coaching, geSng ready to pitch into something else. And so, so why do they call that a mastermind? Like I just, I struggle with that. There's no real business implementaTon on that. That it's,

[00:05:33] RON: [00:05:33] that's probably why I had a negaTve idea of mastery.

[00:05:37] CORY: [00:05:37] Because that was what you more thought it was like.

[00:05:39] RON: [00:05:39] Yeah, exactly. Yeah. So anyway, so there's goda be some element of training. There's goda be some element of networking and building relaTonships because a, if you're not building the relaTonships, then what are you doing? Right. Like people say online businesses beder. Cause they don't have to build a relaTonship.

[00:05:56] So unless you're an Amazon store, you're going to have to build a relaTonship. right..

[00:06:00] [00:06:00] Right, right.

[00:06:00] CORY: [00:06:00] Um, but then the last part is, and this is when the epiphany I think had, is when we did this, started doing hot seats.

[00:06:08] RON: [00:06:08] Right.
[00:06:09] CORY: [00:06:09] And that was when. 10 experts around a table or able to go

through different businesses.

[00:06:15] Right. And so you, as a business owner would come on and pitch your thing, go through your webinar, go through your Facebook ad, go through your funnel, go through whatever it was. And then you'd get the instant feedback. And I remember seeing some, the light bulbs. Going off of people tearing that I don't know about you around, but like the moment I saw these light bulbs in some folks' faces was the moment I was like, oh yeah, here's the secret sauce.

[00:06:43] Here's the right mix of these aspects.

[00:06:47] RON: [00:06:47] Yeah, absolutely. There was a complete difference of their aStude. If you. And their adenTon and what they were puSng out in the world. And what was cool is the person on the hot [00:07:00] seat was learning and making adjustments to their offer, right then that can build live instantly.

[00:07:06] But what's cool. And what we were hearing, the feedback was I learned so much from that person being on the hot seat, I was able to make changes. To my own thing and they weren't even on the hot seat, but they learned so much because they were also in a very similar place in that they were able to relate to where that person was geSng stuck.

[00:07:27] And we were able to all kind of walk through that, that it helped them.

[00:07:31] CORY: [00:07:31] Yeah. Yeah. And so from that, the impactors mastermind was born. So anybodylistening. This is not a hard pitch like impactors mastermind.com had their view on it. Take them info if you want no big deal, but it's like, that's where this whole thing was born.

[00:07:47] We've been talking impact. And then with our mastermind and mix and finding that secret sauce of this is not group coaching. This is not just me talking or training, somebody like this is [00:08:00] a third of training, networking and sharing business and deep dive in on one individual's business each and every week.

[00:08:08] Right? So an hour of Tme in that, what a way to 10 X your investment, right? What a way the 20 extra investment is spend one hour a week. Like, come on. Like if somebody is not in a mastermind at all, Take a minute stop and think, do you want to improve your situaTon? And again, don't, you don't have to be an impact or mastermind mind, but some mastermind on some level that allows you to learn network and get mulTple eyeballs on your offers and different things in real Tme.

[00:08:38] And get that feedback in real Tme. Come on. Those are the three things you need for a great mastermind. So feel free to check out Impactors mastermind. And again, any thoughts behind the mastermind you want to give me your best mastermind, leave us a review, let us know, like what's, who's the best mastermind out there that you've been a part of or any ideas on your favorite mastermind, like [00:09:00] share.

[00:09:00] We would love to hear that. Gosh, I love masterminds. Get excited. I want everybody to be in one. I want to help people as many people as we possibly can. Small group masterminds the way to go and the way to truly make an impact.

[00:09:15] RON: [00:09:15] Absolutely guys remember no fluff, no BS. Just impact. Go make some.
