Episode Transcription

[00:00:00] CORY: Welcome to the impactors podcast. I'm Cory Carter

[00:00:04] RON: and I'm Ron. Cool.

[00:00:05] CORY: And we are the owners and founders of hindsight hacking media agency, podcast, funnels, graphics, and more head on over to get hhm.com

[00:00:15] RON: guys, we created this podcast to help you go create an impact today. Not tomorrow, not yesterday. Today. We're taking all the fluff, all the BS out so you can go create an impact.

[00:00:32] CORY: And today's topic is

[00:00:33] RON: masterminds, hot seats. What are they?

[00:00:37] CORY: That's right. Hot seats. These are one of my favorite things about our mastermind, about some of the other masterminds that I love the most. They get this part called a hot seat. And I think one of the fun ones that I saw online space early on was we were hanging out with Brian Delaney. And, uh, I forget [00:01:00] exactly what he was going through. I think it was a funnel of some, somebody in this group. And so it was partially a hot seat. Like we do it, but, but it had this element of Brian was just going through their funnel and he, you know, for anybody that knows Brian, Delaney is kind of a master at funnels. Like he's, he knows how to

[00:01:17] RON: He's the guy, he's the guy.

[00:01:19] CORY: So yeah. What's tell me, like, what did you think when we went through that and how that's translated, to stuff we do.

[00:01:25] RON: Uh, well, I think let's just talk, let's put out all the feelings. First one, I was thankful it was not us up there. Right. It was a little bit scary. Right. But we got so much value out of someone else's heart. For our own business and we didn't have to like face the fear of this person had to do so it was, it was like the best of both worlds. Right. And then as we got more comfortable, we're like, yeah, we should totally get on there but watching someone else's vulnerability and getting their stuff out there and their critiques [00:02:00] out there, if you approach that, not just listening. To what is happening, but actually being involved. So you can take something from it to improve your own business or your own self, nothing like it.

[00:02:13] CORY: Yeah. And as I remember that one specifically too, because of the benefit we got just by watching him do it on another one. And then, I mean, that group, there was hundreds of people, so it's, it's not like. Yeah, he could have done it to everyone. Right. And that person didn't get feedback from the common person. They literally just got feedback from Brian, who is a master at that stuff. Right. But how we translate it to our mastermind and how hopefully some others do is is you have a small group, let's say 10, 15 people. And you go through, like, we can go through that person's funnel or their pitch or whatever. Right. And then everybody also can say, Hey, here's like all the structure that you get and learn from us, but then you get somebody else that's watching. And it's like, well, you know, if I were to buy it, I would need this. [00:03:00] Right. Or like that part didn't speak to me. I might not be your ideal client. That part didn't speak to me. And here's why, and you get all these other potential objections that you can overcome before you really pitch it. Right. And I think that was one of the most full things is everyone benefited. And then when you take it to the small group, then you get, you get more direct feedback. Right, right. And so watching it when we've done it, on A webinar on a pitch on a funnel has been just so, so cool. So I mentioned this because I feel like, you know, yes, we're talking about masterminds. Yes. Everybody should belong to one, but a form of a hot seat can happen anywhere.

[00:03:41] RON: Absolutely. It truly, truly can. As long as. Long as you're willing to put things out there and not take it personal when someone gives me feedback. And that's the other piece I want to talk about, like you can't, you're going to get squat out of it. If you think it's perfect. Right. And you're going to get nothing out of it, you [00:04:00] can't take it personal. You have to be open-minded. You have to be willing to receive the feedback, to go make a change, to then increase whatever you're trying to do

[00:04:12] CORY: yeah. And what a better spot, what a better way to try to get some feedback from people that are just there to help you grow. They're just there to help you succeed, how to help you get more sales, to help you benefit better from whatever you're trying to do. Right. And so you can get that honest feedback and, and yeah, like some. If you're not the ideal client, if somebody's going through something, you have to put yourself in a different mindset and a different someone else's shoes, but still us entrepreneurs. I think we're pretty good at doing that overall that we can help people, right? Like not just us, like just a lot of entrepreneurs I think, and they know how to wear multiple hats for their business. They know how to put themselves in the mindset of a customer. Right. And so, you know, certain things can get that feedback just so right [00:05:00] away of people just truly trying to help. And before you make it to a customer that just doesn't buy and you never know why,

[00:05:07] RON: right. A hundred percent, a hundred percent. And I agree with you so much because you would rather know that there's an issue with your funnel, your offer, your whatever. From someone that's trying to help you then not hear from someone that didn't buy

[00:05:22] CORY: Right? So moral of the story action step, even if you're not part of a mastermind, find a way to get yourself on a hot seat, right? Find a way to get your funnel, your pitch, or whatever. In front of a handful of people that are trying to buy, but are truly just trying to help you.

[00:05:38] RON: I got an idea. There's a calendar link down below in this show, Corey, and I will do it for you. half hour free let's get in here. Let's help you out. Let's figure it out. No fluff, no BS. Just impact. Go make some.
